Description:

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that accesses energy pathways within the body to assist with the smooth flow of energy. When energy gets stuck or isn't flowing smoothly, we have symptoms of dis-ease. These symptoms can manifest as: stress, irritability, anxiety, pain, insomnia, fatigue, bowel issues, digestive issues, mental health issues, hormone issues, skin problems, breathing problems, thinking problems,
headaches, swellings, and more.

After an interview to find which meridians the imbalance is affecting, the practitioner may use pressure or a variety of other tools/modalities to encourage the free flow of energy. Discussing current symptoms allows the practitioner to find where the blockage is and offer treatment to help it move, which alleviates symptoms. Generally, the patient's job is to sit back and relax, tune into their body, and feel where the energy is flowing or what it is doing.
